Everything comes from my great passion for dogs, I love them all but hunting dogs in particular and most of all Bracco dogs. That’s probably because I grew up with my father’s hunting dogs and it was always a good time to stay with them. I
remember about Full and Fly, two white and black English Setters which seemed to fly on the ground and I remember about Tigre, a white and orange English Setter, a very cute and
good dog; Jim and Boss, two amazing Kurzhaar so different both in the personality and in the appearance: Jim, with his brown roan coat, loved the contact with the owner while
Boss, with his brown single colour coat, wonderful like Adonis, had a free-standing nature.
Unfortunately, a sad my dad passed away so Jim and Boss, which have been his dogs since then, became mine. I couldn’t even think to give them in and
they turned into the reason of my life. I perfectly knew how much my dad loved them and I did the same.
Later, through the years Jim, old-style Kurzhaar followed me everywhere as long as in a chilly day of March he flew on the rainbow bridge; it was
very hard for all of us, including his lifetime “friend” Boss. Then, shortly after, I decided to find a playing mate for him and I
started searching for a Kurzhaar puppy. It so happened that the breeder who I turned to had no available puppies at that moment and it was at this point that my partner Matteo
started talking about Weimaraner and how much he was keen on this breed.
He was so convincing that I started getting information about the breed, about the character and the health and finally I looked for the best
breeders and I contacted them in order to have more information. I also went to an international beauty contest in order to see them in
close-up and that was the moment when I felt in love with Weimaraner.
From here to have my own Weimaraner it was a short step; after a few months Brenda arrived at home, she was an amazing grey puppy who gave me (and
still does) a lot of satisfaction!
I started taking her to every beauty contest even from Juniores (from 6 to 9 months of life) and it was a resounding
success! I have always led Brenda by myself, without any professional handler. Within a short time she won a large number of titles and
she was in some of the most important Italian and international rings. A superstitious peculiarity about the name: Brenda is Charlize
Theron on the pedigree and I have personally chosen this name because I did wish she could be very good and beautiful as the actress...never has a name been more
suitable!!!
I also immediately started to bring her on the hunting ground and she showed to have a great hunting, search, point and retrieve aptitude. Everything
was so natural for her, exactly as it should be for each hunting dog. The passion and the intensity on the field made me realise that
hunting is their highest expression, nothing on earth will pay them back more than hunting with their owner. She made me change my mind:
when I was a young girl I used to reproach my father when I saw him leave with the dogs and his shotgun. I did not understand the inner meaning of hunting. Now that I have my own
dogs and I live in narrow contact with them, I can see them being free on the ground and I am totally on their side. They are hunting dogs, selected to work.
I was over the moon seeing them doing what they were born to and in 2013 I decided, together with my partner, to obtain a hunting licence. We would
like to be at the service of our dogs.
My “adventure” with Brenda goes on with one of her puppy, Blanke, the result of a strongly wanted mating. Blanke too, is a very promising dog. I lead
both of them and they always reach very good results even during ENCI contests.
I became so passionate about this beautiful creatures that the project of a small breeding was born, and we have called it Grey Velvet.
I do the selection in order to contribute to the improvement of this breed under many aspects: morphology, character and hunting aptitude; I truly believe that we still have a
great deal of work to do, most of all about the natural purpose for which Weimaraner was born: hunting.
That’s the reason why I pay particular attention to the matings. I really try to have morphologically normal and healthy examples but I also look for certain characteristics than
can make improvements to natural qualities of this breed.
My dogs derive from the best bloodlines and they are healthy, morphologically normal and exempt from hip and elbow dysplasia. They live with me and my family and they can enjoy a
4.500 m³ fenced area where they can run wild.
For my puppies I am looking for people who, besides from loving their own dog, can pay attention to their needs and requirements and people who can make their lives interesting
and exciting.
A Weimaraner is not a suitable dog for everyone. They’re very active dogs, which need a lot of movement and they also clearly need a family who can give them love and cuddles; you
can not put them in a corner of your house and that’s all, because Weimaraner will build a very strong bond with you and it will be a real family member.
A dog like Weimaraner, with its elegant and regal apparel, make people usually think they’re only companion dogs, but a Weim is much more than this! These dogs must be always
mentally and physically committed in order to release their energy and be happy.
If you are an owner of a Weimaraner, you will surely live a total experience with your dog.
I hope I was able to convey my love for this amazing breed, for which I would like, with my small contribution, to preserve and appraise the standard of Weimaraner.
